Body and Breath Psychotherapy

Starting Therapy

People seek therapy for many reasons — to navigate difficult emotions, a lack of fulfilment or disconnection, or facing challenges in relationships. Whatever has brought you here, therapy offers a space to pause and explore your experience. My role as a therapist is to support you in that process: to help clarify and make sense of your feelings, and to offer prompts and techniques to encourage deeper insight and meaningful change.

The process normally starts with a free initial consultation via a phone call, so we can get to know each other a little, explore why you’re seeking therapy and I can answer any questions you might have.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

(Carl Rogers)

How I work

I am person-centred counsellor and body psychotherapist. Person-centred counseling believes that people have a tendency towards growth and health, with the right encouragement. I begin by trying to get to know you, and encouraging you to speak freely and in depth about what’s going on for you.

I bring the body into this process as a way of deepening your experience of your emotions. I know from my own experience working with the body can be powerfully transformative.  I use breathwork, and guided attention as ways of deepening this experience.

I am deeply inspired by the work of Carl Rogers and Wilhelm Reich.

I see clients on a weekly basis for sessions of 50 minutes in person or via Zoom.

What I can help with

I work with people experiencing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bereavement, stress, trauma, sex and sexuality-related problems and identity issues.

I am based in Angel, Islington, a short walk from Angel Tube station.
